This is the most delightful creamsicle scent for about a moment, then it gives way to a dank, heavy patchouli-vanilla accord that feels very dated. Had an Angel kind of vibe to it. I seem to struggle with the anchoring notes in Profumum Roma scents. There seems to be an unpleasant tension between the soaring, helium-weight top of these fragrances and their stodgy base notes.

Dulcis in Fundo by Profumum Roma is the second fragrance I've tried from this house, after Acqua di Sale.

Like Acqua di Sale, Dulcis in Fundo has a simple composition with few notes, which remain consistent throughout the life of the fragrance. This makes it a linear and easy-to-wear scent that never gets tiring.
Despite its simplicity, Dulcis in Fundo is a very rich and complex fragrance. The vanilla note is the star, but it's balanced by the citruses, creating a great combinaton. The result is a sweet, gourmand, and sensual perfume.
The projection of Dulcis in Fundo is excellent, and the fragrance lasts on my skin for several hours.
I've received many compliments when I've worn this perfume, with people telling me I smell like "candy".

I think Dulcis in Fundo is a perfect perfume for special occasions, but it can also be worn every day.

Stunningly beautiful - one of my favourite fragrances of all time.
I don’t get a lemony citrus (thankfully - I have enough fragrances in this category).
I agree with the dreamy orange creamsicle comparison - it’s not a literal interpretation like a candle or body spray, more like an elevated version that smells heavenly.
As it dries down, it reminds me of a root beer float (but I wouldn’t say it smells like root beer).
Creamy, sweet, with a touch of spice.

This is pricey, but worth every penny - you absolutely get your money’s worth.
One of the rare fragrances I have that lingers on my skin the next day.
Last week, I had a formal event, and I can still smell it on my dress hanging in my closet.
It even comes with a decant kit to make your own travel spray.

10/10 from me - highly recommend ❤️

BLove345

Upon first spray this smells like a sweet lemon and vanilla pastry. I absolutely loved it. About 10 min later...not so much. It turns into a very synthetic heavy smelling vanilla. It doesn't smell anything like Bianco Latte, but it's the same kind of synthetic vanilla. I really dislike that fragrance, but if you like that kind of vanilla you'll probably like this. I thought the citrus in the initial spray was absolutely beautiful, but sadly it went away very fast. On me this fragrance just smells like fake sweet vanilla. The projection is light enough to be wearable at work and the sillage is intimate. I will not be purchasing a full bottle of this.

SquidFragrance

Smells nice for sure, but I do not get creamy vanilla and citruses. On my skin, I get a slightly citrusy powdered sugar. does not project far, but it does seem to linger a long while. Glad I sampled this one, will not be buying a full bottle. I prefer Xerjoff Lira or Akro Bake.

Farrque

Creeeeamy vanilla and sweet citrus.
Almost a grinded nuttiness in here as well.
Minimalistic but very pleasant.

Eden2earth

The dreamiest orange creamsicle enveloped in brown sugar. This is the best blind buy I’ve made hands down. I wiped the perfume cap on my wrist & the scent has been lingering around me for hours. This will definitely be put to use throughout my whole summer.

Autismrizz

This is the perfume that got me into fragrance overall - a fraghead friend gave me a years-old decant of it in 2021 and my obsession was born; I recently treated myself to a new full bottle. It starts with gorgeous, fresh, almost-bitter citrus (like the oil from a clementine peel) upon spraying, and as that subsides it gives way to a delicious, marshmallowy vanilla, like a gourmet luxury creamsicle-inspired dessert. Isn't overly candy sweet, so it's grown up enough to wear to a wide variety of occasions.

I will say, my old decant (since it had macerated for so long) had a much richer smell - burnt sugar, caramel, tiiiiny bit of smoke. Absolutely transcendent. Fresh bottle is already a masterpiece, but once all the ingredients have gotten a chance to get to know each other, it creates an altogether new, gorgeous gourmand.

dlst08

I recently got a sample of the body lotion and although I've never had any interest in testing DIF - it always sounded like a boring basic gourmand from the notes - it is absolutely gorgeous stuff, the platonic ideal of lemon-and-vanilla-flavoured cornetto filling. It is, also, a basic gourmand, I guess - not super sophisticated or complex - but like so many other Profumum perfumes it's just extremely well done. The lotion also has a wonderful consistency between cream and fluid, is a pleasure to wear and very richly perfumed.

Devin0715frags

This is hands down better than “lira” and “love and crime.” It only gets better as it transforms and becomes extremely smooth and creamy. It’s so gourmand I could eat it and honestly I was at lost for words. Everything works so well and the added freshness makes it feel “cold” like going into a basement. Absolutely should be a try if you like vanilla and citrus fragrances.

Bijousmere

It smells like delicious lemon cookie but extremely subtle. My kids said that it smells like my normal skin. I guess what that means is it smells like clean skin right from the shower if you bathed with a yummy shower gel or soap. This is a safe blind buy if you have disposable income. Unfortunately I have to be more discerning while purchasing full size.

medwatt

This smells exactly as the notes suggest: vanilla and orange. It reminds me of those biscuits with orange-flavored butter/cream I used to eat as a child. Someone told me I smell like ice cream. While this smell nice, the question is "do you want to smell like a walking ice cream?"

timmybils

It smells like the pink Starburst. Projects well, but not enormous, and it's long lasting. 8/10 It smells much better on my skin than on paper.

Ayyyyyeoh

I’ve been on the hunt for a well done citrus lemony vanilla Fragrance, and this is it. As someone who hates lira and devotion, this one is a banger. The initial sprayed does come off like an orange scented cleaning product but after five minutes, you get a beautiful creamy citrus orangey lemony vanilla Fragrance. The drive down is identical to indult tihota.

fanntonyoscar

This is reminiscent of CSP Vanille Abricot and Montale Sweet Vanilla at first, but I think I prefer those because DIF has a slight cleaning product undertone on my skin after dry down. Lemon tends to pull that way on my skin.

JaySentz

This really smells like an orange creamsicle to me, maybe with more elegance. Quite tasty. It’s not a strong projector; I need to get it close to my nose to appreciate. Sweet and clean, but not particularly complex.

AG2330

The first spray was love at first sniff!! I immediately connected this fragrance to the rainbow fruity Peebles! It is sweet, fresh and gourmand. I LOVE IT.
Longevity is divine, it lasts alllll day on skin and clothes. The opening can be a bit citrusy, but the dry down is so creamy and juicy at the same time. It's easily one of my favorite lemon/vanilla fragrances. I own Lira and Ex Idolo Crime, they are great loves, but this one is the winner for miles!

If you are considering getting a lemon vanilla cake scent, I would recommend Delcis in Fundo!! Dont sleep on it!

ljsmith

The dry down has a creaminess to it that smells like a citrusy sweet body lotion, but like, a body lotion I want to eat.

xfume

If anyone is selling an older bottle of this stuff, let me know!

markvel

It was released in 2001 not 2006 (recently someone changed the year for some reason even though it was fine before)
Also I saw a lot of of Profumum perfumes here on Fragrantica have wrong release year

alphairone

I suppose if one wants to "smell like a snack," one could do worse than to seek out the dandy lemon-cooler, -chiffon, -meringue on a bed of fluffy marshmallows and angel food cake that is Dulcis in Fundo. I for one, do not want to 'smell like a snack" but I suppose if I did, this would do the trick.

But I don't, and I don't do gourmands like this, but it comes as no surprise that Profumum Roma could deftly craft something like this for the right audience with the right fat wallet.

bryannef

For me it smells like how a lemon meringue pie would taste like. Very comforting but inviting at the same time.

This leans more feminine rather than unisex but I can still see a guy that has “golden retriever” vibes wearing this.

kristamb

This perfume is very well done but nothing ground breaking for me, who LOVES vanillas! This is very similar to Montale's Sweet Vanilla, Laurence Dumont's Vanille Bourbon, or Yves Rocher's Vanilla Bourbon scents. It's base notes are mostly "vanilla cookie" in nature, and actually remind me a lot of the very popular staple for vanilla fans- Outremer's Vanilla. It's sweet, a touch of citrus in the top and middle notes, and definitely on the gourmand spectrum. I don't personally need this with some of the other citrus vanillas I own, but it is a well done beauty for those other vanilla lovers out there! Longevity is also descent, 4-6 hours on my skin.

Update-I did not hold onto this one. Dulcis in Fundo proved to be too sickly thick and sweet for my liking, though nice for those who adore such scents!

Enrium

Having sampled a few Profumum Roma perfumes, my take is that they seem to specialise in simple but expertly-composed, high-quality freshies that have distinct personalities. While marketed as unisex, Dulcis in Fundo is the most feminine from this house that I've tried so far. Despite its (very) simple list of notes, it is a scent profile that I'm drawn to: citrus and vanilla. That perfect combination of sweet and fresh, giving a gourmand-lite effect is irresistible to me. Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Pamplelune, featuring its groundbreaking-at-the-time-of-release grapefruit-vanilla accord was my first foray into such scents, but DIF is one of the best I've encountered since. First of all, what a great name: the Latin translation for "sweet-bottomed" is both apt and adds an air of sophistication, while being in keeping with the brand. I am not the biggest fan of gourmands, but the light dessert quality of a citrus-vanilla accord is utterly delicious, and DIF is a beautiful example. It also - unexpectedly - brings to mind Shalimar, which features vanilla and a lemon-led citrus accord as part of its baroque composition.

DIF is sweet from initial spray, with feather-light, powdery vanilla evident from the beginning. The vanilla is top-quality - never cloying. The citrus notes appear alongside it. I get mostly lemon initially, and perhaps some lime. As it develops, it becomes more orange, but the lemon remains. Lemon tends to be the most polarising of the citruses, but here it is beautifully placed, and tempered nicely by the other notes. The vanilla is fluffy and weightless, almost marshmallow-like.

As it develops, I get a hint of amber. There is a subtle incense note, giving a caramelised effect to the vanilla-citrus accord. It is reminiscent of crème brûlée here, and is the perfect development to a scent of this profile. It fades to a dry vanilla skin scent. Sillage is moderate and longevity is long-lasting. It is feminine-leaning and transeasonal, best worn during the day.

A simple but sophisticated gourmand-leaning scent, DIF is deeply enjoyable to wear - comforting yet freshly pretty; simple but not banal. The sweetness is perfectly judged - the vanilla is high-quality, dry and lightweight; balanced to perfection by the fresh citrus. Light and beautifully balanced - this is how I like my gourmands. A slice of Shalimar. 4.5/5.

RaggedyAnn

Sugary incense. Just a hint of lemon in here but a lemon chiffon smooth lemon and the incense isn't too strong. Delicately balanced and feminine. Almost a marshmallow drydown. I'm going to buy myself a big bottle of this and throw a tea party.

AgataO

I have only 8 ml as a fragrance from a subscription - and I plan to buy a full bottle when
a) the 8 ml will finish
b) I will finish at least one more of my cosy fragrances (I have really a lot of them and my new rule is to have 2 perfumes out, before thinking about buying a new 1)
As a lot of other reviewers stated - one of the most beautiful, creamy and cosy perfumes in my life - it gives the feeling of sitting in front of a fireplace with a cup of your preferred hot drink and enjoying a good book (yes I am a bookworm^^)

luna_stella

For some reason, I didn't pay much attention to this when I first got a sample but omg, I am so glad I gave it another chance. Probably the closest thing I've tried to a creamsicle scent and yet, it isn't too juvenile. Absolutely delicious!

Marie20707

I absolutely love this. It is sweet with a creaminess to it. I can honestly see this worn in the fall as well, because it’s gourmand. It’s inoffensive and sweet without being cloying.

Ilikewhatilike

The syrupy and deep coloured juice is a sign that this could be a gourmand monster, and the wearing experience delivers.

Citrus and creamy vanilla. It leans orange / mandarin off my skin and it hangs along with the vanilla for much of the ride.

The notes make me think daytime or afternoon, but I usually consider reaching for gourmands of an evening, so I’d need to wear this a few more times to work out which occasions suit this best for me.

All in all a solid release.

JayR79

Orange meringue skin scent.

Agapi_Mou_Gluko

Dulcis in Fundo…. Initial spray is a strong plasticky lemon- dominant citrus note. In the dry down, the citrus fades and it becomes a soft airy sugary powdery vanilla and ____? I can detect something with the vanilla but I do not know what it is. I liked this one the more time it settled on my skin; The dry down is delicious vanilla

santiniansia

This thing is potent and powerful. If only I liked the smell. The more I tried to wash off just one spray, the stronger it seemed to get. My fiancé said it smells nice from afar, but up close it smells like rotten fruit.

August 1 edit: So I wore this tonight to give it another chance. Big mistake. I sprayed it on my clothes, and it was alright at first. But it seemed to get more and more repulsive until I could feel my stomach turn while I was eating and smelling this thing at the same time. It ruined perfectly good food, and now I don't want to wear any fragrance. This thing has put me off wearing fragrance when I've been spraying something every night for at least 6 months! Okay, that's it. Goodbye to this decant!

Fiori di Sicilia. IYKYK.

Scent lasts forever. Gets compliments. Delicious gourmand.

Dua’s dupe Dolce Vita is spot on.

rbalkris

Probably the best vanilla centered scent in the world today this sweet confection presents a comforting natural soft vanilla smell in all its glory. There is only traces of some citrus fruits, slight apricot and synthetic musk. The linear projecting unisex scent has moderate projection and very good longevity. Vanilla lovers, here is your holy grail. Enjoy!

Shaina87

I absolutely love this. Heavy citrus notes and fragrances can be hard for me. Bc a lot of citrus notes come off sharp and smelling like a house cleaner. (I'm looking at you Lira) So when I sampled I think I didn't go in with high hopes. But I was pleasantly surprised! This is beautiful. A warm orange and vanilla cream poundcake is what I get and it's delicious! It's sweet but not dense or cloying. There's a fresh and airy quality to it too. This is my first orange/citrus fragrance love and now I feel like I don't even need to keep searching for any others. This will work all year for me, daytime and nighttime... whenever I'm craving an orange citrus fragrance. I bought a bottle with a quickness!

Linda Stormshot

Man, I really grew to love this little lemoncake ❤️ Its my favorite scent when I go to bed after taking a bath. That warm vanilla and lemon is just perfect in cold Norway.

I think this is more a feminine scent than for men. If you like sweet gourmands, this is a treat for you ❤️

bluesunshine

Lightly spiced vanilla custard orange cake. Not a hugely projecting gourmand but it lasts intimately for hours. Layers well with other fragrances. High oil content so care must be used on fabrics. This is the first fragrance I’ve purchased from this house & I really like it. The funnel & rollerball included are a bonus.
Update: I get compliments whenever I wear it. It really is a well done vanilla.

AkaNeri

Sweet vanilla from Montale if not my favorite vanilla, but I'll take it 100 times over this one - I cannot sniff it after 10 minutes - all I'm left with is some dusty slightly sweet fragrance with maybe some citruses, but it's hard to tell since it's almost non-existent on me. It's harsh and sharp at the top and not present after 30 minutes.... Pass.

dcjimr

A beautiful vanilla citrus but I agree with other comments that the projection on this is quite low. I would only buy this at a discount.

E.L.2002

The opening is extremely well done. I get realistic citric notes and freshly baked vanilla cake.

The citric notes don't last longer than 20min, and you are left with poorly projecting vanilla for a few hours.

It's one of my favorites from this house. Very unique and pleasant smell, but sadly not enough projection for my taste.

Scent 9/10
Performance 5/10
Versatility 7/10

SmellsFargo

I find that with a lot of the gormans from this house, that if you do not have the right weather situation that they end up smelling like Play-Doh: this and sorriso the big examples.

However, get the temperature to below 50° and this baby shines. It's a creamy citrus cake with vanilla frosting on top. It lasts forever but really becomes a skin scent about three or four hours in? So I'm assuming this is really more for intimate encounters or when you're going to be very close around I don't know a dinner party or something.

I find this FWB but at a discounted price. I found my bottle on jovoy when the Euro and the dollar were equal and I paid 170 and find that an extremely appropriate price for the quality of the scent and the performance that you get, projection aside.

Voyagevoyage33

I adore this but why does it last so little on the skin? Why no projection? Not all Profumums are created equal..

DarlingLovely

Almost angelically pretty, yet not at all earth-shattering. A pretty and delicate vanilla-citrus.

aviegravy

this is very sugary. the citrus is not juicy and fresh, it is muted and powdery. i’m testing it alongside vanitas, the similarity between the two is remarkable. they both have this sugary, powdery, hazy, and sweet dna — sniffing them is like being caught in a sandstorm of sugar. i prefer vanitas, it’s just a little more zesty and piquant.

RottigrlNYC

Smells very synthetic and screechy. I don’t like this one at all

brennerm222

This smells like an orange creamsicle. The vanilla is so creamy. I find the citrus to be pungent in the opening but settles as it dries done. Delicious. I just wish it performed a bit better. It sits pretty close to the skin and doesn’t last too long. I love how it smells though.

valk

Fresh citrus burst opening. Citrus opening here in Dulcis in Fundo smells like squeezing the fresh rind of a mandarin until it pops. While this citrus skews "orange" it's not a true orange like Love & Crime. The citrus opening is short lived around a minute or so. Although I love citrus dearly, I can't fault the citrus in Dulcis in Fundo not sticking around longer because that's just the nature of almost all citrus in perfume!

The vanilla heart here shows up fast and heavy behind the retreating bright citrus. The vanilla here is slightly ambery to my nose at first--the mandarin is sticking around and becoming melded in the vanilla. It's evolution from bright to warm is delightful.

After about an hour on the skin, the vanilla has mellowed and rounded out. My partner turned to me at this point and said, "Hmmm you smell good." The vanilla in Dulcis in Fundo has a slight plastic toy element for me that is actually very pleasant and even nostalgic. The vanilla also reminds me of the best parts of vanilla extract that you'd use in baking (this vanilla extract element is why I think most people are associating "cake" with Dulcis in Fundo).

I own both a sample of Lira and a full bottle of Love & Crime. Dulcis in Fundo is more similar to Love & Crime due to the orange element. However, Love & Crime dips towards a less bright, true orange citrus with a cocoa middle. Out of the three, to me, Lira smells the most sweet and Dulcis in Fundo is the most sophisticated.

After I run out of my Love & Crime bottle, I am going to replace it with Dulcis in Fundo. Dulcis feels more sophisticated on me than L&C. Both are different enough to warrant having both bottles. Really gorgeous smell if this kind of simple cirtus/vanilla gourmand is your thing!

jassca99

I don’t like this too much. It smells like medicine that’s orange vanilla flavored or more accurately like orange creamsaver swirl candies. I feel as if milk/cream is a hidden note but here it doesn’t gel. I honestly don’t like milk/cream paired with orange specifically. They don’t marry well and the orange amplifies the potential “sourness” in the milk. However, if you enjoy creamy orange scents then you may find this absolutely delicious. I just think this needs something aromatic to balance the cream. It’s a preference thing. I also wouldn’t suggest buying this to replace Xerjoff Lira, Ex Idolo Love & Crime or Montale Sweet Vanilla. This does however smell like a lighter Montale Vanilla Cake, which also gives me that adverse creamy effect but with almonds.

markvel

After 4 years I still didn't find better vanilla then Dulcis !
People rave about West Indies Vanilla as one of the best vanilla perfumes but in my opinion that one smells cheap and boring comparing to Dulics in Fundo

Lashtx43

I really really like this. It smells just like you think it would. I’d wear this year round but some may like it in the colder months. Easy reach and can be layered. But it’s expensive. Rather expensive for what it is. An excellent option is Vanille Abricot as they’re almost identical. Still if you have coins and find a deal- pull the trigger! It’s good, good.

Ansarit

Does this scent perform well and smell good? Yes And sure . Suitable for dates ?
Again like 80% of profumums these fragrances are better off for candles or room fresheners… not at all sexy or should I say “Pantie droppers”.

Overall- 6.9/10

NoClock

This went from a mild like to my favourite vanilla over the course of 20 ml. At first it smells very nice but a bit plain. You’re not wrong, it is. It smelled like vanilla cake batter with a touch of orange at the start. However, the more I wear it the more I notice the subtleties. The orange which seemed to disappear in the first few minutes is actually present throughout the wear, but blended in such a way that it it’s only used to accent the vanilla rather than stand beside it. Like with most of Profumum’s offerings it’s the experience of wearing it that really sold it to me, not the careful inspection of a reviewer. Wearing I get a beautiful vanilla orange cake that lasts all day, projects nicely and never offends or becomes becomes cloying or unpleasant, even in the heat. This is minimalism done right, sleek and elegant. This is super versatile and a great base for layering, but I prefer it on it’s own. Comforting, decadent, powerful and yes, a bit plain - this is the definition of vanilla. I finished my small bottle surprisingly quickly and will be replacing it with a full bottle very soon!

tessture

I tried this years ago and wanted to resample. I get no citrus at all, no tart notes of any kind. What I do get is a gorgeous non-sweet but cold vanilla, like whipped cream from the fridge. But it is very simple and linear. It shares a similarity with Eilish in the cold vanilla but is far less sweet and does at least have the hint of something else in there. But I mostly get cold vanilla.

OneBlueSummer

made my mouth water at first lol nice mix of birght then sweet manderin- that opening is like 30 seconds and then its just flat dry wish citrust would have stayed more

Qimmo

Smells like an orange creamsicle / ice cream.

Sweet, orange (NOT lemon), very warm vanilla. That's it. Very consistent and strong, doesn't change, the orange doesn't fade away. Even after washing my hand with soap I could smell it on my skin and it still projects a little bit.

I've been waiting to get this for so long and it's... okay. It's not bad but not wow either.

EDIT: I don't know what happened but it changed and it stains my shirt whenever I spray it. I guess it's the price you pay for that staying power.

Ralphangel

Anyone that gives a negative review of this perfume should start taking their medications. Dulcis in Fundo by Profumum Roma is out of this world! As a guarmand perfume lover, I can attest that this is one of the most delicious guarmand perfumes in the market. Yes, it's like a vanilla, sweet ornage creamsicle ice cream with the most beautiful soft powdery drydown. A masterpiece!!! Perfectly unisex.

Aveline

Immediately this is a super true-to-life cake. Reminds me of my ricotta cake that I make with vanilla bean paste and orange zest. Once it has been on for a few minutes and has had a chance to meld with my skin chemistry, the notes seem to separate a bit. I end up with more of an isolated vanilla with something slightly dirty about the citrus, which then stays throughout its duration. I will say that in cooler temperatures that it remains a bit more consistent with the opening; my preference. The scent is attractive and naturalistic but maybe not interesting enough to warrant the price tag. I find I can get a similar effect by layering 100 Bon Davana & Vanille Bourbon with Pacifica Island Vanilla, though the longevity of the Profumum Roma is hard to compete with.

Branama

If you tried Lira hoping for lemon pound cake and were disappointed, try this instead. It's so much brighter and more feminine in my opinion.

hritz87

Is it just me or everyone below has got a better fragrance
No citrus but very minuscule undertone of orange blossom, plasticy medicinal
I had so much expectations due to all the reviews on fragrantica and youtube
But this is just meh..
For the price it’s just not right
I will give it some more time & see how it goes..
But there are fat better vanilla citrus oriented fragrances out there…

dcjimr

Not sure if this has been reformulated because I can barely smell it and it lasts all of an hour on my skin.

italiancandi

IT’S DELICIOUS! It’s a sweet vanilla cake garnished with citrus fruits (not the bitter kind) sometimes I get that, other times I get orange creamsicle, and after 24 hrs on clothes, it becomes a fruit and vanilla yogurt parfait. The mastermind that went into making this had me in mind when they made it. It’s my absolute favorite

Liljekonvall

To my nose this is a bit lighter then Lira(i have both)Glad i got this since i think Lira is a bit «too much»Fantastic perfume👍

jardines1

This is a review of the gorgeous body cream. For those familiar with Profumum Roma scents, they are primarily linear although quite complex, which sounds contradictory; they must be experienced to understand the juxtaposition. The quality and longevity is unsurpassed. Dulcis in Fundo body cream mirrors the perfume; citrus peel, warm custardy crème brûlée à la Grand Marnier, with a sumptuous vanilla drydown that lasts for hours. A nice accompaniment to the perfume ( although extra sillage not needed with Profumum scents), and a decadent indulgence for after shower or bath. Exceptional!

MarsOnEarth

This is what I thought Lira smelled like. Dulcis in Fundo, Lira and Cacao Dreams by Alexandria have some strong similarities but the differences make them distinct. Dulcis in Fundo is powerful and heavy, my favorite, I am still saving for a full bottle. Its like an orange cake with a thick syrup.

CreamSunshine

Need to do an updated review on this one. I love this fragrance so much. It smells like a creamsicle-flavored vanilla cake, and the scent is ridiculously THICK, if that makes any sense to you. It really is like I’m smelling a fresh baked pastry with some sort of super creamy sweet icing. The only problem is that it makes me really hungry when I wear this. To me, the scent is so realistically a dessert that I just crave sweets the whole time I’m wearing it. Dulcis in Fundo is a huge love for me, and I’m glad I have a large decant of it, but I can only let myself wear it for one hour before intentionally washing it off, because it will last all day on my skin and make me crave cake all day, otherwise.

perfumewave

I like how the basic notes are and how good it smells. It has the two fundamental notes to create a lemon cake scent. The freshness of the citruses and the sweetnes of the vanilla balances the scent perfectly. I don't think that anything is a safe blind buy but this would be a safe blind buy for most people who knows what they like because it's a simple scent and probably you'll get what you expected. Only thing to be carefull is that its color is yellow, so I wouldn't spray this to white fabric.

Sweetvanis

I want to bathe in this or possibly drink it, very addictive!

SailorV

Fresh and juicy citrus, warm and sweet vanilla and a smooth spicy undertone that reminds me of Kenzo Jungle L'Elephant without the Christmas vibe. I can't quite put my finger on what it is, and I'm not saying Dulcis In Fundo is a dupe for Jungle, but there is something not listed in the notes that really reminds me of that spicy 90s classic and I love it. I think it's something about the texture of the scent, something that makes it interesting and intriguing.

The rest is fairly simple: Lemons, oranges and mandarins in their zestiest, juiciest, most mouthwatering form and creamy vanilla for days. The citrus fruits really stick to the vanilla, so they last much longer than they do in most fragrances. The lasting power is generally great here. Because of the balance of warmth and freshness this can easily transcend the seasons and is not strictly a winter fragrance, provided it's sprayed carefully.
I see some comparisons to Xerjoff Lira, but to me that one is much more of a winter gourmand with the cinnamon and caramel.

There are many citrus and vanilla scents on the market, but in my opinion Dulcis In Fundo has that special something that makes it stand out from all the others.

I feel like all the other reviewers here got a better fragrance than I did. Althought there are only two notes, citrus and vanilla, I don't really get any citrus from this. I've been exploring vanilla centric fragrances and this one is an example of how a vanilla scent can go wrong.

On me this is a sugary melted plastic mess of a vanilla. A loud plastic-y vanilla, maybe something that recalls coconut on me. It's all very artificial smelling. Even when I don't like a scent, I can usually appreciate the quality of the ingredients, but I find this smells very... inexpensive. I wish I was getting this citrus dessert and vanilla that other people are describing. I'll keep testing. Maybe I'll get it eventually.

A Fragrant Life

The top starts out just like A Sweet Pastry in Paris or Lira, but after 10 mins it begins to pull sort of spicy. If the aforementioned two are too sweet for you, this could be a good option.

Digi3573

I love the citrus mixed with the vanilla > It really is a sweet orange citrus vanilla cake !! Sadly It has horrilbe longevity on my skin , lasting maybe an hour with little to no projection . I have read all the reviews and most people say how much of a beast mode this fragrance is so It must just be my skin chemistry . Anyone else get really bad performance with this ??

RedLipsReview

Sweet, orangy vanilla cream cake. It is a long lasting quiet fragrance. It is simply lovely.

I wrote a long and rambling review earlier this year which I’ve now deleted. Coming back to say that after purchasing and emptying TWO of the 18 mL travel sprays from Luckyscent I have now caved and purchased the 100 mL bottle as a Christmas present 🎁 for myself. (So I’ve spent approximately $465 on Profumum Dulcis in Fundo in 2021 😬).

Dulcis in Fundo starts off with zesty and effervescent orange peels. It’s so orangey and delicious; think about the smell on your hands as you’re peeling the rind off. Almost sneezy. After an hour or so a ‘baking in the oven’ type of vanilla scent emerges, something like muffins or a coffee cake just out of the oven. The orange rinds dissipate but never leave entirely. Dulcis in Fundo remains an orangey zesty vanilla muffin. It’s not especially “perfumey,” more like an aroma wafting from a bakery as you walk past. I find the longevity to be very good but the sillage/projection is soft. I’ve never received a comment from anyone. But I personally swoon, swoon, swoon over this delicious, cozy aroma. 10/10 STUNNING. I wouldn’t wear this in the summer but definitely have in fall, winter and spring as long as it’s not too hot. This is my #1 gourmand and I’m not into gourmands at all for the most part. LOVELOVELOVE Dulcis in Fundo.

LovelyLifestyle

Opening is fresh squeezed orange juice with creamy vanilla.
Almost like an orange creamcicle.

In the dry down it turns into a candied orange with vanilla that gets a little ambery.
With that Profumum signature sugar water DNA in the base.

I'm going to buy the body cream too because this is just juicy, creamy orange deliciousness.

Gourmand fans you will not be disappointed. Delicious creamy, citrusy, vanilla panettone. I fell in love with it the moment I sprayed it on. Very comforting.

pineneedle

Smells like a vanilla cake with almond flour drenched in lemon syrup and topped with fresh lemons. The opening is a blast of sweet, dessert-like citrus which very quickly mellows down to a soft lemon cake with sojourns into funfetti along the way.

After a few hours the vanilla cake takes precedence. When I smelled it I wanted cake, so I went out at bought a slice. After I had the cake it was almost too sweet and rich for me.

My partner loves it, but we both agree that we would be driven to east cake constantly if I purchased it.

Good projection but linear. Fun to sample, but I don’t know if I would want a full bottle - that’s an awfully long time to spend smelling like a birthday party.

Trendkill97

One of the most delicious creamy gourmand fragrances ever. Met with freshness from the citruses very uplifting and blended with the vanilla makes it very dense, feels very crispy in a way, smells somewhat like an orangey Vanilla icecream, performs amazingly well too, has a tinge of almond vibe too. Definitely a must try for lovers of edible scents.

ghkim

Smells like orange rind with a hint of vanilla on me. It was much more likable on paper. I also get a plastic scent, which seems to happen with all the Profumum Roma fragrances I've tried so far. After a while, the bitterness and plastic note settles down and I get a softer citrus. Seems very overpriced at nearly 300$.

Malleable

This is a gorgeous lemon vanilla cake. Sillage is fairly close to the skin. My go-to lemon gourmand scent is Chiffon by Solstice Scents but this one is different enough from it that I think it might be worth adding to my collection. Fluffy and delicious.

markvel

Most delicious vanilla perfume ever ! Yes it's a bit cakey but really high class cakey 😄
True heaven for gourmand lovers !
It's not basic cheap vanilla but really refined with touch of citruses
When you first spritz perfume on you it's so strong that make me sneeze but after 2-3 hours it's really close to skin to longevity could be longer

Jkr111

I LOVE this scent. I don’t get much citrus from it after the first ten mins, just a glorious grown-up vanilla. I could still smell it the next morning too. I’ve already got another sweet gourmand from Profumum Roma - Dolce Acqua (which to me smells of honey) - but I’ll be adding this to the collection too. Looking forward to layering it.
Update - a friend commented that it smells like smarties and it really does! This has in no way diminished my love for this scent.

Scentedalterego

The type of vanilla used here is the edible variety, smells like baked goods. This is quite a realistic lemon meringue pie scent. Somehow it also reminds me of madeleines. The citrus used here is this is not fresh, it’s a gourmand citrus. As if lemon peel was used in the dough.

Photorealistic and not synthetic like some of the cheaper gourmands, no plastic vanilla here which is a huge plus. Great performance as well.

I’m personally not a fan of lemon cakes so I won’t be getting this, but if you’re a gourmand lover looking for a cakey scent, this might definitely be up your alley.

Veronchik3008

The scent is beautiful if you like vanilla with citrus. This is sweet, almost edible, vanilla cake-like smell.
The lasting power on this is absolutely nuclear. It lasted 24+ hours on my arm after showering. I could still smell it just as well as when I first applied it.
It lasted for over a week on my cashmere cardigan, and I didn’t spray on it directly.
I suppose it’s worth the price tag because of the outstanding performance.
Crazy compliment getter from men. Girls, take note 😉

thecorb

Lovely sweet citrus vanilla fragrance. Same sort of vibe as Lira, but less depth and more summery. Maybe this for the daytime and Lira for the nighttime. Sillage is fairly soft which is a shame.

samosbabos

I think this one is the father of “ani” by Nishane. They have lots of similarities.

Vanilla with citruses.. it is just beautiful.

ts4r

It's so good that I compliment myself, i own an 18ml and will try to refill it:)

cocofluff

+ Damn! This is delicious! Seems like a simple, straightforward citrus and vanilla. Yet somehow there is happiness wafting around within this deliciously sweet cloud. Love at first sniff.

APJ

This is my favourite gourmand. It’s the most delicious vanilla pastry covered in orange syrup. This might sound cloying and overly sweet, but it is not. It’s pretty linear, though, and you shouldn’t expect a huge development on your skin.
As with most profumums, the performance is nuclear, so go easy on the trigger.
Recommended for gourmand lovers only.

Allinug

On me this is a beast. I put it on and I could smell the beautiful vanilla all the day. In the morning the day after I could still smell it on myself.

Tamlin

Yes, this smells like cake, and yes, I wanna smell like cake. Cuz I'm da snacc!

Seriously though, this is a delicious gourmand, smells like a citrusy vanilla cream cake.
There is a certain warm or "baked" quality, almost like burnt sugar, which makes it feel thick and rich and gives me vibes of crème brûlée.

I can see why some would think that this leans feminine, but to my mind this is perfectly unisex.
Creamy vanilla cake doesn't have a gender!

I really don't understand why some reviews are saying that this is too weak or disappears quickly... On my skin this is quite strong and lasts a long, long time.

This and Profumum Roma's other vanilla offering Vanitas have some definite similarities. They are both warm, sweet and creamy vanilla gourmands with a citrus touch, but Dulcis in Fundo is a bit creamier and cake-like while Vanitas is a bit more tangy and candy-like (and arguably more feminine). If you like Vanitas but find it too feminine, this could be a better choice. Or, if you like this but want to turn the vanilla intensity up another notch, try Vanitas!

Vitodito

Diana says it right, it smells like a cake. It’s lovely but sometimes if we manage to get out the geek bubble and sit back to the normal people area... do you really wanna smell like a cake? :-)

Answers can be different. But i leave the question there :-)

Don’t forget you’re paying a lotta money on this one, and a cake perfume might sound like a child perfume you can find in grocery shops. Dunnow, just think about it before you buy these perfumes.

If you want that, go ahead and enjoy :-)

Hd_Diana

This is a gourmand perfume, one that I love very much. It is a vanilla perfume with citrus . Every time I wear this my husband says I smell like a cake. It’s sweet but not cloying sweet.

zimmer73

I got this today, blindbought it after reading the reviews here. It is absolutely beautiful, but it is so subtle I dont hardly detect it on my skin. So disappointing..
Other fragrances from the same brand, are too loud, but this one could really get more power. The scent is creamy and wonderful, so I long for it to be more present.

AmirKing

Smells like dying dusty oranges to me
I don’t get any vanilla from this

KylieBooFace

Ehh. I kind of get the Pannettone comparison, and the citrus, but something is off to me. Not light and fresh gourmand like I wanted.

dvlcis

I love the scent.
And, as usual with this brand, perfect technical qualities.

My problem with it is that is that it stains badly and the sprayer is also... not too delicate.
I hardly ever find the opportunity to wear it, cause I can only wear this on black clothes, and this in itself tends to be an issue too, cause this perfume is a cheerful gourmand, not exactly "fit" to black clothes.

The perfume is many classes above the other gourmands on the market. Pity it has this staining issue.

botany28

Like a lemon cake with loads and loads of vanilla whipped cream, but with a hint of something really artificial and chemical underneath, like a fresh coat of wall paint.

I'm definitely getting so much more aerated cream than citrus, here. If it wasn't for that vaguely rubbery, paint-like scent lurking in the background, this might be more palatable.

CreamSunshine

This perfume is the big sister of Vanille Abricot! It’s that same happy vanilla apricot scent to me, but slightly less sweet/sugary.

GlacialImpala

On me it has the same exact dry down as Lira, only much stronger. I only touched my dauber on the skin, while Lira was generously sprayed.
Sadly there's no refreshing citrusy opening was with Lira, but still this is much better scent because that opening lasted seconds...

modernwarpaint

My orange sherbet melted and I puts it on my skin.

Dawn is breaking in the forest. A white unicorn with a gilded horn emerges from the early morning mist. You watch this magical being approach you from your seat atop a flat stone platform ringed with trees. The Sun’s rays, newly unfurled, are just kissing the tips of the snowdrops among the wet grass at your feet. The unicorn comes nearer. Steam rises from his silvery form. He snorts a greeting to you. You reply with a nervous smile, and bow. Across his silky back is a bag, woven from silver tissue. The unicorn tilts his noble head, paws the mossy earth, and the bag slides down, into your grasp.

With shaking hands, you carefully remove the items from the bag, and gently place them atop the stone. A crystal goblet, and plate; and a small faceted crystal bottle, with a carved stopper. All empty, you think. What- what is this—? The Sun, a bit higher over the horizon now, bathes the objects in sudden blazing illumination. In a trice, the goblet fills with a golden elixir. And one perfect, round white cake has materialized on the plate.

Captivated, you close your eyes as the scent of the newly conjured goblet’s contents and the aroma of the cake circle about you. The liquid in the goblet is the most delicious, mouth-watering essence of fresh orange imaginable. The cake is radiating a vanilla almond cloud of sublime, creamy sweetness. These two heavenly scents bloom in the morning air. They are intoxicating. You reach for the goblet and plate- just a taste-

The unicorn stamps, and utters a deep whinny. The elixir and cake turn to mist before your eyes. The mist curls through the air like a living thing, towards the empty bottle. You blink, and the mist is gone. The bottle has filled with some kind of glittering potion.

You take the bottle in your hand- the unicorn nods- and you sprinkle a few drops on your wrist. Oh, glorious scent! What has been conjured here? A perfume, a gift, an enchanted essence of juicy citrus bliss; a morsel of cake, a vanilla of impossible quality, distilled... you breathe in the divine aroma. “I will wear this scent forever!” you shout joyously into the fragrant air.

As your words fade, the unicorn, the goblet, and the plate vanish altogether. Dismayed, you fix your eyes on the bottle, and gasp as the liquid changes from soft gold to clear fluid. With a trembling hand, you bring the bottle to your nose.

It’s water. You stare, with widened eyes. The faceted crystal gives forth a last, brief twinkle. Then it too disappears.

You blink slowly, as if emerging from sleep. “I must have been dreaming,” you think to yourself. “I imagined it all. It wasn’t real.” You shake your head, take a deep breath, and rise. You turn and leave the glen and the flat stone, now bathed in bright morning light. You take one last glance back. Then briskly, you set off resolutely into the wood.

There were hoof marks in the wet grass. But you could not see them. And, in the light of the gathering day, any trace of the prints fades slowly away.

If Creed VIW & Sublime Vanille had a baby! 2 HGs for me. I received a sample with an order, & after trying it twice, just HAD to buy a 100 ML. This is light, but it lasts! My skin eats perfume to the point I usually spray my clothes & hair when going out. But at night, I'll spray my wrists. One spray last night, 11 hours later it is STILL there. Very lightly, but that is saying something! I'll be drowning in this for a solid week once it arrives. LOVE!!! I see someone mentioned the similarities to Shalimar Souffle. I understand where you are coming from, but to me, they are not alike. I love that too, but I have so many like this, that I can easily distinguish the differences. This doesn't have the Smoke & Leather nuances SS has. I also have Montale's Sweet Vanilla & CSP's Abricot Vanille (another HG). More similar to those, if you like those, you will like this, but still not exact. Someone WAY below mentioned Chocolate & that it smells like Choco Musk. I've adored Choco Musk for years & have gone through many bottles of the oil, the spray sucks. This smells NOTHING even remotely close to that. This is NOT chocolate.
Update after a week of wear~ Def a LOT different than CSP Vanille Abricot, (An HG for over 20 years) which I still favor over this. That one is sweet, this one is waxy.
The only perfume I ever got the "Candle vibe" from was Kenzo Jungle L'Elephant, which smells just like the Glade Apple Cinnamon candle. Until now. This smells sooooooo good, but I def smell like a Candle during the drydown. So I'm gonna have to be in a candle mood to wear this.
Not selling this, but I am going thru my collection of over 500, decluttering on YT. Natalie N

ingeneuxo

-Linear vanilla scent, with LOUD citrus.
-Too cloying and loud for my tastes.
-Not fbw. (-)

TeachOlfactoryArt

The most delicious panettone, heavy on vanilla, you’ll ever dig into. 12 hours later if you heat up, it’ll fill a 2-story room with its scent.

Fipah

The only absolutely non-perfumey non-synthetically-sharp fragrance I've found is Dulcis in Fundo by Profunum Roma, which I totally love. It is like the smell of you as a child running through mandarin orchards towards your granny's freshly baked vanilla cake that is cooling on her veranda below Italian hills during the sunset. Or the green meadows from Miyazaki's Spirited Away mixed with a sense of hope, home and shelter.

💗 LOVE THIS. If you are sensitive to perfumey, irritating and sharp notes, this is a delight!

I love non-perfumey, often photo-realistic, fragrances that give me a sense of tranquillity, shelter and home 🤍 Dulcis in Fundo is a dream come true if you are like me and your favourite fragrances are non-cloying non-perfumey gourmands. I hate everything soapy, smoky, woody, spicy and incensy or fruity and full of florals – and nothing from these is in this fragrance, which is very rare to find. (Sometimes I like the option of added herbal and green notes that evoke the feelings of serene forests and calming meadows – think your grandmother's fairy herbs in her wooden witchy pantry and not masculine woods and greens, but I am diverging here).

🌸 Everyone said Profunum Roma gourmands project as hell, but to me, this stays pretty close, however people do tell me they smell it around me. I prefer skin scents as everything that projects tends to be perfumey and "synthetically sharp".

❓ This fragrance is often said to be overpriced, but this is 100 ml. I am okay with paying roughly 100 euro for 50 ml, so 219 euro for 100 ml is okay in my opinion. YMMW of course.

❗️ If you are eyeing other Profunum Roma gourmands, let me warn you:

1.) Vanitas is absolutely perfumey and synthetically sharp
2.) Acque e Zucchero is also strongly perfumey but less than Vanitas
3.) Sorriso is lovely non-perfumey but has added spices, so if you're like me and you do not like spices, maybe avoid this, though the fragrance is not cloying and is definitely worth a sample
4.) Confetto is totally perfumey and sharp

Vanian

This fragrance is obviously about vanilla, somehow though it is more like lightly spiced vanilla, to me actually this is the more sophisticated sister of Jungle Elephant Kenzo which I was not able to like much, so in two words if I need to wear something similar to Jungle, I simply would opt for Dulcis in Fundo, it just covers my taste requirements for that style of fragrances.

butterbean

I have been trying to test this scent for a LONG time...finally got to test it.

Sweet vanilla dominant with a STRONG citrus, almost akin to the zest of a bergamot or lime rind with that sharp citrus almost a soapy citrus bite. The vanilla adds creaminess and warmth. As it wears it softens, sweetens, more delicious like and more likeable for me.

Very different from Vanitas - which is sweeter, stronger, and much more of a vanilla with hints of sweet citrus.

This smells exactly like the cooking extract called Fiori di Sicilia.

MrsPoke

I am completely nose blind to this scent. I have a few other scents from this house and don't seem to have this issue with the others. I also didn't get a single compliment so, I'm going to chalk this up as another expensive lesson on why I should stop blind buying perfumes.

NataliNatali510

Not a creamsicle vibe to me at all. Definitely orange in the opening, but not flesh of the fruit (neither fresh nor juicy), but rather zest, like a spiced pomander - aka, orange stuck with cloves. Also, right away strong vanilla of great quality. As someone else has mentioned before, there is heliotrope in the heart of the fragrance, no doubt about that. The dry down is gorgeous - sweet, luscious, non-alcoholic vanilla. This juice is very strong and potent. One spray was plenty to enjoy this fragrance. Not great projection, but the scent lingers a couple inches from the skin and lasts for hours and hours.
If you spray on skin and clothes rub on it, they will smell absolutely incredible for days and days. The dry down is divine - cozy, warm, sweet, a little smokey. Gorgeous!

dvlcis

Fresh vanilla cannoli, rich caramel sauce, orange peels confiture. All very realistic.
Gourmand epicurean dream.

archiephillips

Nice vanilla/caramel with orange.

A simple note breakdown to this one, and it does somewhat come across. You get the citruses and vanilla in the opening, and the drydown is very similar, but with less pop.
The vanilla is delectable and syrupy, whilst remaining natural smelling. As the fragrance develops, the vanilla starts to mimic caramel, and the citrus melds with it somewhat. I'm not entirely sure which citruses are used, but I detect predominantly orange, especially in the drydown. There is a certain cakey feel to it which puts it strongly in the gourmand category for me. This could be the vanilla icing on an orange cake.
Will I shell out for this though? Probably not. It's very nice and all, but I don't feel massively drawn to it for some reason. Just does not thrill me. Still, it is probably my favourite from Profumum Roma, from the four I have tried. This house may not be for me - something which may well save me a lot of money.

I like it, but not bottle-worthy.

(dislike/indifferent/like, but not BW/like a lot, potentially BW/love, definitely BW/masterpiece)

AndySmellsGreat

Gorgeous, strong and powerful.

Somewhat dark powdery feel, citrus that is somewhat bright and obvious at first turns very muted and soapy leaving you to actually check at this point and confirm it’s supposed to have citrus!?

The dusty dark powdery Yet creamy and soapy feel surely must be tonka and sandalwood with some sort of muted wood I think - it’s akin to say the dry vanilla stalk nose to skin. I would not as some consider this as syrupy but rather dry.

What makes this special is the simplicity and lack of oily, syrupiness or balsamic presence you get in a simple vanilla. It’s actually refreshing for summer and great for winter.

It reminds me of my mum whom used to puff Johnson’s and Johnson’s Baby Powder over her shoulder and back after a shower to keep dry and fresh in summer - so if you would, a vanilla talcum powder is what it does for me. It also feels quite androgynous for me - so on a woman it’s for a woman and on a male it works as a male scent.

Some descriptions here as a bakery scent or creme brûlée also work for me though I think it is not as definitive as a description.

Classic Profumum.

wxmath

Wearing this today, my wife hwo hates most of my farker fragrances commented on this one. She liked it a lot. I told her it had vanilla notes and she said she smeeled something fruity. I looked up the notes, and voila, citrus is also there. I didn't detect the citrus as much as she did. She like it a lot, a definite keeper for me.

katrin.niisuke

Syrupy and sweet! Interesting vanilla in here. For some it can be even too sweet. Creme brûlée through-ought the entire mid wear. Not my favorite from this house but also not the worst one they offer :) long lasting and has a soft sillage.

MonkeyPuppet

I have a 5ml sample. It smells very similar to Shalimar Souffle. Anyone else get that?

Mariasch

This scent is magic. It´s so pure when it comes to ingredients. You can really scent the mandarin and the sweetnes of the vanilla, combined, is an absolute dessert for the nose. Its wonderful but best being applied moderate. It very sweet but after a few hours, it sets very deep on my skin and becomes more sexy.

Nicyoung

Its ok. I had higher hopes with all of the rave but its a nice citrus vanilla sweet frag. very very average IMO

Zanthulu

Pure, unadulterated indulgence.

The top leads with a strong but sweet citrus, backed with a sweet vanilla.

This settles into a lovely, almost bakery-like (Read: panettone) mixture of soft and velvety citrus and natural vanilla, possibly the best one I've ever tried. Not in any way too sweet or overpowering, but just right.

Great projection, great longevity and has amassed a fair amount of compliments.

A true gourmand.

Ansarit

Opening was quite nice I really enjoyed the medicinal orange+vanilla. Dry down smelled liked an orange flavored Oreo O cereal.( similar vibe to chocolate greedy) Is this worth the $$$? Nope not imo
Scent opening- 9.5/10
Dry down- 8/10
Performance- 9/10

miletas89

This is the most pleasant vanilla I have ever tried. And I have tried Guerlain's SDV, Tonka Imperiale, Serge Lutens' Un Bois Vanille, Van Cleef & Arpels, just about everything under the sun. Nothing comes close to Profumum Roma Dulcis in Fundo. It's like getting to the bottom of the dessert and finally reaching what you were looking for. It's a sweet orangey slightly citrusy (which makes it a bit fresh and takes off the heavy edge) vanilla concoction that just takes me away into the world of rainbows and creamsicles.
The drydown is gorgeous - I can stuff my nose into my wrists for hours and enjoy the smell. There is nothing sharp or offensive about it, and just when you think the scent has rubbed off, you catch a whiff of it as you turn your head or move your hands. It's SO so so beautiful. SO much.

GRAF

This is a nice feminine gourmand. I was expecting something similar to Allure Homme Edition Blanche Chanel which I love but it isn't. Decent performance though but it's not a strong scent as many reviews say.

b.gracious

Scent - diluted orange creamsicle.

Season/Time of Day - I prefer to use this one in the colder months, at night.

Projection - I didn't get noticed, I didn't get a compliment.

Longevity - I get 24hrs consistently.

Sweet orange creamsicle opening segues into a bit of a waxy vanilla scent. The drydown has a note that's slightly nutty, but mostly reminds me of the smell of those icecream cones that taste like styrofoam. Very sweet gourmand. I love the creamsicle opening, and the rest of the scent is not bad. It's very simple and doesn't smell as expensive as it is though. Mild sillage and longevity. Like.

nottheaverageidiot

In my opinion, the best gourmand scent from Profumum Roma.

As others have noted, Dulcis in Fundo is composed of two main elements: citrus and vanilla. The citrus is very strong in the opening, but gradually calms down. Good? Check.

After an about two to four hours all that is left is a, quite frankly, beautiful and fuzzy, deep vanilla. Do I detect… musk? There are hints (only hints!) of Tihota by Indult, to be honest. Amazing? Check.

I'm just a bit confused about those 2-4 hours inbetween... Am I the only one who gets that, uh, waxy/baked note? Not quite unlike the cheap waffle of an ice cream cone? Not a fan.

Anyway: amazing longevity and good sillage, like most perfumes from Profumum Roma. Will not buy, since I can't be bothered to wait so long for the dry down, which is the only part of Dulcis in Fundo I truly enjoy.

Heifrank

This smells like juice made by Gods and not humans.

NZperfumefreak

I have finally purchased a large bottle of Profumum Dulcis in Fundo, after being completely spellbound and olfactorialy transfixed by the miniature sample I bought online. Although it is expensive, nothing else comes close to this, and seems to reflect the essence of my soul. Dulcis in Fundo is like catching a whiff of burning logs on a winter's day, with a heady mix of oranges, condensed milk and the most astonishing deep and glorious vanilla. It is magical. I have found no other perfume in my life that transfixed me like this one. If you want something that will satisfy your love of mystery, inspire your artistic senses, comfort and envelop you as well as entice you in a simultaneously adult and childlike way, this is totally the perfume that meets those requirements.

willyng

Citrus note is sharp in the beginning, even undried-paint-like. But in a little while, it turns into a very lovely not so sweet vanilla

äppelpaj

The first minute this really smells like the Italian Christmas bread panettone. Unfortunately the orange quickly takes over and grows more and more obnoxious and cloyingly artificial. I thought I was going to love it, but after a minute or two I can't stand it. Pity. I would rather love a dry-down than amazing top notes that don't even last 10 minutes :(

Tapinview

Another all day magnificent beauty from ProFvmvm Roma. So rich and sweet with a beautiful orange note, one of my favourites, in the open then a sweet musky vanilla persisting forever. Maybe my lifelong love of magnificent sweet peachy Mitsouko primed me for such as this but it is so gorgeously satisfying and sweetly beautiful without making your teeth ache. That’s it I’m gonna buy all of them!!! It’s a bit like Lutens....if you love a style, just get it.

OlfractalInfemme

One word: CREAMSICLE.

the_badger

@wxmath Not too sweet? Are you sure? To me this is concentrated sweetness in a bottle. Same with AeZ and Vanitas, I have not smelled anything sweeter in my life!

wxmath

I love this vanilla fragrance, done not too sweet but with a citrusy background. One of my faves from this house.

landshark321

Another impressive entry from the house of Profumuma Roma, Dulcis in Fundo embarks us on a fragrant journey with two familiar tools, vanilla and fruit, used in a precisely-nuanced way to show us something different and exciting while similarly reminding me, at least, of both Meringa and Acqua e Zucchero a little bit each.

Dulcis in Fundo brings a boozy vanilla together with what seems to be a mix of citruses, but primarily orange, perhaps paired with orange blossom. Unlike Meringa, though, it's not a creamy meringue-esque type of combination. Rather, the citrus component in DIF does has some tartness to it, so as one reviewer suggests, it might involve bergamot. Still, the relationship between the vanilla and citrus is very harmonious. It might lean slightly toward vanilla, particularly in the dry down, but the force of either is on par with the other.

Performance is, as has come to be the standard of the line, exceptional. A very strong projector but unusually long-lasting, Dulcis in Fundo requires only a couple of sprays to yield a comfortable scent cloud.

I find that DIF might work better as a cold weather option, contra Acqua e Zucchero being more apropos for warm weather, at least in my opinion.

DIF is similarly to both AEZ and Meringa but is special in its own right, and I'll probably be inclined to buy a bottle in the next year or so.

Orange creamsicle. Reminiscent of Montale's Sweet Vanilla, CSP Vanille Abricot and Vanilla Girls. Fundo is possibly my favorite of them all, it is very well done and without the muskiness the others have in varying degrees. Still a bit sweet to become a regular wear of mine. Though sweetness is to be expected in this vein of vanilla citrus/apricot candies.

I have a sample of Orange Cream Pop by Demeter on the way... I am curious if they are similar. The Demeter could be a more affordable alternative.

wxmath

A pleasant vanillish fragrance, longevity is great, sillage moderate but it will get noticed in a small room. I didn't get the citrus as much but believe on the initial spray I detecetd a little.

on the noze

This is mad quality perfume that performs beautifully. Sadly, it has heliotrope which I'm not a fan of. Not listed but it's definitely in the note breakdown.

DHIguy99

Side by side this reminds me of Ultra Zest by Thierry Mugler. I like this better because it last longer on me and feels more natural. I own both but feel I can part with UZ and I'd be doing just fine.

miako

I went a bit crazy in Italy... bought like 12 perfumes, from high end niche to total obscure niche- the kind that you can only buy right there, and out of the 12 this is one of my favourites.

This one is so strange, almost kooky, the way it is so potent yet not at all nuclear. Except for the initial burst of citrus (I smell lemon curd, the proper kind with perhaps some orange peel), it's rich, full bodied vanilla and marshmallow all the way... but only the ones that are very close will be able to pick up fully on this gem. The others will just get a soft waft of this heavenly scent.

Whenever I put this on people ask me "what are you wearing?it's insanley delicious, I have to know!!" and guess what? I never tell them... I say something like "oh.. I blend 2,3 fragrances."

Yup, I'm evil like that.lol

A tooth achingly sweet and sultry Fruit Loops-like perfume, with the same artificial sweetness of a fruity Wunderbaum. Liquid candy-- my first impression was that of that orange flavoured cream in between wafers, or like some say, an orange creamsicle. Personally I don't find myself drawn to orange, but this is candy, not fruit. Don't be put off! I love it and I have never found something like it. I'm a bit angry with myself for putting off exploring Profumum Roma for so long. Their gourmands are out of this world. This is a brand of great quality, and their huge bottles contain 40-ish percent oils, whereas most EDP's contain maybe 10 or 20 percent. This is unfortunately for me reflected in the price. This is on the top of my wishlist right now, and my boy really approves of it. I highly, highly recommend sampling this if you're a gourmand nut.

Second review on this one, so I'll keep it short. I compared Montale Sweet Vanilla to DiF. DiF is more refined, and the citrus makes it less cloying than the apricot in Montale. They are similar, yes. But I prefer DiF.

on the noze

WOW! I too am ultra impressed with this perfume
I think it smells like Arnott's Orange cream biscuits!

Delightful!

Great performance.

Love this house.

Madrona

Fuck, this is great. Slightly powdery orangey vanillic caramel pastry with ice cream mixed with guilty pleasure Wunderbaum and bubble gum.

dmetzger

Do you like vanilla? How about citrus? Good news!

This is your jam.

Seriously though, Dulcis in Fundo is a straightforward vanilla perfume that is plainly unisex and pretty, well... plain. It opens up with some citrusy notes, I'm thinking amalfi lemon and bergamot with a "brown sugar vanilla" that smells very natural and inviting. It dries down quickly and leaves mostly a pure tonka-vanilla tone that persists through the life of the fragrance as a transparent skin scent.

It does not project much at all, and doesn't develop in complexity. It's a bit of a disappointment if I'm honest with myself.

Scent: 6/10 it's perfectly tasty and well crafted but doesn't hold my interest.

Longevity: 5/10 I get five hours of usefulness out of this before I need to reapply or forget about it. Most of that is a skin scent for me.

Projection: 3/10 ...Profumum I love you but this is...unexpectedly disheartening.

Sillage: 2/10 for the first 15 minutes then nothing.

Would I buy a full bottle? No I'm sorry. If the loudness were cranked up to 8/10 and I could actually smell it on myself at rest and it lasted more then a directors cut of a "Lord of the Rings" movie...then I would love to own it. But as it is, no. Not even at half price.

ConsumerThis

As a 30yr old male I love masculine scent of course...but there's that side of me that likes offerings like this one, dead smack unisex and being a vanilla I was a little skeptical of smelling like a woman, but this house offers something for everyone. This is a airy light vanilla and citrus combo just like the notes promis. On my skin though it takes its own turn to a splendid composition that has litterly major silage! I dabbled a half a vial on my from luckyscent, equivalent to a couple sprays I would say amd I was complemented through the other room across the house down the hall way. I was a little worried going in to the office but by then it must of calmed down. I got many complements throughout the day even 8 hrs later and here we are 14 hrs later and it still lasts.

june7rose

I love this, it's kind of similar to Sweet Vanilla by Montale, except obviously a different fruit, this is citrus vs. apricot. The vanilla here is also less sweet more refined smelling. The travel size on luckyscent wasn't ridiculous and will let me try it for a while.

Dulcis in Fundo is the first Profumum Roma I've tried, and although I like it, I think my little decant will have to last me a lifetime: I've just looked up the price of a bottle, and man, it really is ridiculously expensive. If you're not very rich, you'd have to be very deeply in love with a fragrance to pay that much for it, and for me this one definitely isn't worth it.

It's a shame, though, because as I said, I do enjoy it. The very first part of the opening is a pure blast of bright and happy citrus, exactly the kind of thing that usually makes me like a fragrance instantly. This is no exception, especially as it's such a delightful surprise when you're expecting a vanilla-centered fragrance. On the other hand, it also wears off just as quickly as these openings usually do, and before you get to the real highlight of the fragrance, the wonderful drydown, you then have to get through an awkward phase of a couple of hours, where the vanilla and citrus don't really blend very well and the effect is a bit synthetic. This might be on purpose, the creamsicle vibe some reviewers have mentioned and seem to love, but if so the effect is lost on me. This phase isn't bad, exactly, but there's nothing great about it either, and if this was all there was to it I'd have thought the price could only be a joke.
Luckily, the drydown really is lovely. It's just as longlasting as you have a right to expect at this price point (I'm sorry I keep mentioning it, but it really is hard to get over), and it just keeps getting better as the day goes on. The combination of vanilla and citrus starts to work just as wonderfully as I was hoping when I decided to test this, eventually: the synthetic effect disappears, and a gorgeous vanilla comes to the foreground, mixed with a hint of luxurious citrus oil to enhance it. It's a very warm, comfortable scent - not light by any stretch of the imagination, but not too sweet or edible to make you feel conspicuous either, and it keeps getting deeper and better for hours and hours.

So all's well that ends well, and if I could ignore the price (again) and the mediocre early heart, I'm sure this could become a staple of the colder seasons for me. As it stands, I'll have to keep hoping to find something similar from a less expensive house...

stephan

I've tested some vanillas from Profumum: Battito d'Ali, Vanitas, Acqua e Zucchero, Confetto.
But this is the best.
Battito is second best.
The longevity is perfect, the sillage moderate (unlike Acqua e Zucchero that will clear a room) but always present.
It reminds me a beautiful summer at the sea.
100% feminine but 100% wearable by men.
Sounds strange but that is how I feel.

polly golightly

Tapioca

When I spray it get a lot of citrus with a touch of bitterness. On my skin, it's completely different. It starts as orange, then it goes to orange creamsicle and then it ends with a lovely if sweet vanilla. I really like it on me 3-4 hours after applying it but for the first couple of hours it's like going to children's birthday party: orange coolaid and orange creamsicles. Nice, but I'm not sure I'm comfortable smelling that way.

risacake

I get a lot of orange -- balanced with vanilla, but very prominent throughout, and nearly covering the vanilla. From the reviews, I expected "creamsicle," but instead it is most definitely a dark blood orange, an "adult", sophisticated citrus that is bordering on bitter/tart. Smells expensive. I love this fragrance, but almost wish I got more vanilla/dessert-ish from it. (Surprising how a fragrance differs from person to person!) The more I use it the more I get attached to it, however. And the longevity and sillage is very impressive. It's not overwhelming, but I can smell it whenever I move, and for a LONG time. This is pretty magical stuff.

catsngunsnyarn

Dulcis en Fundo is orange, vanilla, and bubble gum. it's pleasant, nonoffensive, and safe. a big comforting hug, happy. but... the first hour was pure cardboardy musty wood.

Lito2

DULCIS IN FUNDO is an addictive devil that keeps me involved in its intriguing vanilla and orange aroma.

It is the first perfume in which the citric touch is so sublime to me. That touch is fading and softening is bringing This special nuance to feature vanilla PROFUMUM Rome used.

It is a perfume that plays with you, as it seems to lower intensity reappears at specific moments reminding you your great choice...

It arouses much interest in people, and it is not invasive. A great aroma.

Guinea54

I got a sample of this stuff.. I like it. Tell me if I am crazy, but it reminds me a little of l'instant extreme pour homme. I am not saying it is identical, but similar genre. This one drys down and has a smokey kind of vanilla feel on my skin. At times I feel its a little feminine.. I think I could pull it off though. I probably would stick with l'instant extreme because I think it is cheaper and a little more fresh than this one.

Chicago Tony T

This is from a sample from LS. This is such a simple scent that has been done before at far less than $240 for 100 ml. I am not a gourmand junkie but Choco Musk and Vanille Cacao pretty much resemble this scent. Even though cacao is not listed it is definitely present. Many members have also mentioned other similar scents at a fraction of the cost so I would look elsewhere..

zaetown

Hey look I know quite a few people may view this frag as more of a feminine scent and i'd have to agree to a degree but not completely. There is something present in this that provokes me to wear it, to trust it to trust my nose that my skin chemistry will agree and does agree w/ it. This is an addictive devil that keeps me wrapped up in its intriguing aroma of warm vanilla and orange goodness. I get a well blended mixture of resins or inscents or something I am so tempted to purchase a fb I just wish my better half loved it as much as I do instead of just thinking its an ok scent.

Oslogirl

This is a real compliment getter! I tried one spray at my wrist, and then met up with some friends who all wondered what I was wearing! A very soft, sweet vanilla scent with fresh mandarine. Absolutely lovely to wear! Very simple, feminine and comfy.Linear and with good longevity on my skin.

-RJ-seventh

I get here vanilla, amber and some dried fruits (not citruses).

edwardnr17

So powerful, it's like an oil on your skin, stays with you until bedtime.
The notes seem to be vanille and citrus, however in my nose this translates to sponge cake. Linear.
A 100 ml bottle could last you a lifetime.

Hellita

I LOVE Dulcis in Fundo!
This is an outstanding, melt-in-your-mouth-licious vanilla imo!

I was a bit frightened by the citrus notes as I'm a bit tired of citrus nowadays, but luckily the vanilla is the most prominent on my skin so I can hardly detect any citrus (other than that it's keeping the vanilla balanced). The first few hours it reminds me a bit of icing sugar blended with vanilla, but the citrusy notes are in there to avoid it being overly sweet or heavy.

DiF was sprayed in the back of my neck last week and I was surrounded by a soft, yummy trail of a perfectly sweet, powdery candle like-vanilla all day. Now, a week later, the scarf that I wore the day I sprayed on Dulcis in Fundo is still projecting a delightful vanilla-aroma in my office. How can that be, you say? Well Profumum Roma is the answer. Their scents has such high concentration of perfume (oil based) that it'll knock the socks out of any designer-frag out there (at least any of the many I own and have tried). The instant I get rich and famous (no, that was a joke), or at least very soon I'll be adding this delight to my collection!

If you like vanilla, and you've done all the variations of vanilla combined with other stuff (florals/spice/incence/tobacco/amber/wood etc) that may or may not ruin the vanilla experience for you, this is a great high quality plain vanilla scent. And it might sound boring, but sometimes that true, yummy vanilla scent is exactly what you're after as an addition to your collection. At least I am. The simplicity of it makes it great for layering and the longevity is impeccable!

UPDATE:
I have been wearing Dulcis in Fundo tons lately and seriously guys, I want to EAT myself when I have it on because it's so yummy! This is favorite-material for me. Check it out!

Arabian Knight

Opens with a creamy, balmy sweetness that I attributed to coconut, but now I see it was just vanilla with some citrus.

Wasn't long before it ended up smelling like a sweet rubbery doll's head. It's rather juvenile and disappointingly simplistic.

Smells like it wanted to be "Battito d'Ali" but just gave up.

jedrzejowskia

Very cute, round, fruity/zesty vanilla.
Opens with a blast of citrus, tiny bit harsh but very shortly after, the vanilla comes to round things off. The citruses stay, sugared, in the background while the vanilla reigns nearly a solinote throughout the wear.

It does have a similarity to LD Vanille Apricot, however here there are citruses instead of peaches.
It actually works that slightly bit better, however this is expensive juice so I will keep my LD VA and enjoy my tiny sample of this while it lasts.
It does remind me a little bit of Panetone, but this is far more juicy!!
Recommended to try for all vanilla and gourmand afficionados.

Lana148

Orange & vanilla.

Plain and simple, delicate, not too sweet, powdery. Another spinoff of vanilla by Profumum Roma. Nothing extraordinary, just nice, comforting fragrance.

kayley123

I like this--straight citrus & vanilla, more vanilla, and sort of powdery?, less candyish than Profumum'a Acqua e Zucchero, but pretty similar. (The citrus in Acqua e Zucchero is mixed with some light berry notes; Reminds me of lemon candy.) Probably don't need both of them.
vs
Farmacia SS. Annunziata: Vaniglia del Madagascar is vanilla, lemon/citrus, but also has a base of amber+sweet floral)
vs
Serendipity 3 Serendipitous: Is orange and (not lemon or a less specific citrus note) vanilla, but also has a coconut note.

missmim

Completely surprised by this one, and it's love. I don't like sickly sweet vanilla OR gourmands as a general rule but this one is perfection on my skin. Very linear but beautifully so. Orange blossom then vanilla, that orange creamsicle thing people keep referring to. But really gorgeous. Saving up for a full bottle.

Steleale

Tested yesterday: It opens with citruses notes and a few seconds later a pleasant panettone smell comes out to leave the place to vanilla that stays for all the drydown. Nice, but needs to be tested on winter time to fully appreciate it.

seekritdude

I was honestly surprised by how much I ended up liking this. I didnt find it to sweet myself, although granted I do like vanilla and gourmand fragrances in general.

Although there are only 2 notes and one tier period supposedly this is what I got on my testing.

Opens with a very authentic to my nose creamsickle smell. Very long lasting, that as this goes on for lets say 7 hours or so it slowly makes way for a sorta marshmallow fluff in the back ground.

Then for so many more hours I get something that reminds me a lot of montale stuff. I get a bit of that nostril tingling slight burning sensation, as im getting a sorta cake frosting smell. Sorta like chocolate greedy reminds me of at times.

And then as it dries down I get more of just a vanilla marshmallow kinda combo. Which when heating up a bit I actually got a bit of a warm, gooey, slightly burnt marshmallow which smelled great.

Performance wise it lasted a very long time. Projection wasnt just ok however it was steady for a long period of time. Which could be because besides the mid where I got that sorta montaleish/ISO E super nostril tinging sensation. There really arent any notes jumping out and attacking you to maybe give it that beastly projection. But all in all it performed well.

For what its worth to me it didnt smell like a vanilla cake, or a creme brulee to me personally off hand.

I liked this quite a bit, is it worth the price. Dunno about that, but if I had a more disposable income I might be more inclined to get it for sure.

alberto1964

This is a scent of memory, when my mother churned out a good cake perfumed with vanilla. One of the few creations of Profumum Roma that I like because, although amazingly sweet, the combination with the lemon notes are well balanced. Very long lasting.

etude83

A glorified version of CSP's Vanille Abricot. But, ah, what glory!

emily7

Very comforting, yet tiresome in a way - linearity and longevity/simplicity (trademark Profumum Roma) are not a good combination here; citruses-vanilla, vanilla-citruses, citruses-citruses, vanilla-vanilla... It was soo goooood, so I ate and ate and ate and now...

One of those perfumes I will admire from afar.

Jillzilla

For a simple scent, I find it difficult to describe. First of all, I appreciate this scent greatly! But I'm not sure it's 100% right for my skin chemistry. It started off very interesting to my nose, with deep warm vanilla and a little sweet orange (nothing bitter at all!). It felt a bit seductive! As it dried down, the orange quickly disappeared and then Dulcis In Fundo became increasingly boring to me. I'm not sure why I felt this way, since I love a warm and slightly woody vanilla, and that's what this was, but there was also something a little dusty approaching from the background and it became a much lighter scent just a couple hours into wearing it. I wouldn't say this is a sugary-sweet scent...instead it is a warm sweet scent, and I agree it is a mature rendition of the orange creamsicle aroma. The vanilla is much deeper here, but I wish the scent had a little subtle spice somewhere in the background and I also wish it didn't become a light scent as it dried down.

I couldn't detect much sillage, but I expect it would leave a lovely trail behind me. I would love to walk behind someone wearing this!!

HanamiTsukimi

This is the most amazing orange creamsicle scent. And yet it's so grown up and so sophisticated! It's actually elegant and downright addictive.

I recently tested a handful of heavy duty vanillas hoping to snap myself out of vanilla fatigue. Now I'm in trouble because some way or another I'm going to have to save up to add this expensive little bottle to my wardrobe.

rickyrebarco

I am sad because I really wanted to smell all the beautiful notes everyone talks about with this fragrance, but it just does not work on me. It opens with the gorgeous sweet orange everyone mentions and then it all goes sideways on me. I get a distinct loud very bitter orange rind note that seems like it is going away after about 30 minutes but then persistently stays on to ruin the drydown of the scent. I'm sad. I wanted to smell all the sweet orange and vanilla. Instead I got a lot of bitter undertones and even a bit of skank, too. It must be the cistus that another reviewer mentioned. Que triste!

Moonlocks

It starts out divine--sweet oranges with a hint of vanilla, and dries down divine--the finest, softest, sweet vanilla I have experienced.

I'm a fan of vanilla in theory, but some as you know can smell tawdry or cheap. Some are overrun by other things --smoke, flowers, musk or what have you--which is fine if that's what you're looking for.

This is vanilla with a touch of citrus--heaven sent vanilla. I keep smelling my arm, with the overwhelming urge to rub my face in it.

And as to that assertion that men are often attracted to vanilla scents on a woman, well . . . today I was wearing it at the office. A younger coworker whom I had a bit of a crush on last year--who has always kept a very professional distance--suddenly needed to stand right beside me to show me the contents of a notebook, page by page by page by page by page.

Edited to add: So after a couple of weeks of savoring my sample, dreaming of it, and trying a dozen more vanillas, gourmands, and Profumums just to be certain this one was it--because at $240 (which could also be a nice pair of boots!)--it had better be IT if I'm paying money for it-- I bought it.

And I'm in heaven. I put it on yesterday afternoon when it arrived, and it was still on my arm when I woke up this morning. It comes with a tiny funnel and a roller bottle which was promptly snatched by my 14 yr old daughter. I told her some people say it smells like Pink Sugar, to which she replied, oh no, this is so much more elegant. So there you have it, from a kid.

Edited to add a week later: My daughter is also is heaven, as Dulcis in Fundo is a huge hit with the High School boys, who remarked on it out loud the first time she put it on in the locker room and then walked out past a group of them. And she's the envy of the girls who want to know "what that is", but will never get ahold of it because the message "it's a small Italian niche perfume called Profumum Roma Dulcis in Fundo, that you have to order online and it costs a fortune" will never get to their mothers intact.

How do I feel, knowing that I now share my signature scent with my 14 year daughter? I'm taking it like this--yes it's vanilla sweetness loved by teenage boys... but it's high class vanilla sweetness (and it will ruin them for the cheaper stuff)... and if my teenage daughter in the midst of the "reject all things MOTHER" phase folds for Dulcis in Fundo... well it's just that good.

Between the two of us, we'll power through this bottle like noboby's business.

Eos

Top notes: lemon cake
Middle notes: vanilla cake and a hint of cinnamon
Dry down: vanilla cake and marshmallow filling

Not particularly complex. Probably too sweet for me to wear very often but positively delicious nonetheless. The vanilla in this is more candy like and than floral. The most pleasant gourmand I've come across.

Scent lover

I smelled it. It was a fresh, crispy, juicy, mouth watering tangerines layered with warm, melting vanilla and I was sold out. I was smitten by it. The roundness of notes and it's opposite sides from citrus coolness to warm, delicious vanilla was heart and nose stealing.

nicoletta m

This is a creamy orange that embraces you like a soft veil.

However, the first impression is somewhat different, with loud citrus notes blended with cloying vanilla that punch you right in the face. It might be kind of a turnoff for those not fond of gourmand, overly sweet and edible scents. What initially looks like a giant orange cake with a heavy vanilla cream filling soon turns into a light vanilla ice cream coated with a tangy orange sherbet.

In general terms, it’s warm, positive and pleasant, but you have to be a real gourmand lover to purchase a 100ml bottle ;).

kookaburrah

My HG vanilla - creamy vanilla drizzled with a hint of mandarine. Lasts a fair while too.

Dittnergirl

If I had money to burn, I'd burn it on this perfume. For me, it's one of those "eyes roll back in your head" perfumes. The citrus and vanilla are perfectly blended to create a tart, sweet, tangy, candy-like scent Willy Wonka would be proud of. My first thought - Smarties! If you're looking for sultry, smoky, grown-up vanilla - keep shopping. If you want a truly sweet, delicious, unique perfume with the punch of a Jolly Rancher that's not watery or shadowy (like most mainstream / celebrity fruity vanillas), this is it.

hermyonee

this is supposed to be inspired by an Italian pastry, traditional Christmas panettone cake, adn being Italian I can say it's true! lol but can't see the point of smelling like a cake, really like a cake, specially at that price! it's pleasant anyway, vanilla, sugar and candied fruits, lovelly, ok, but too axpensive for this, surely the most expensive Panettone out there, not for me!

summertimeolive

Lovely sweet fragrance without being overwhelming (if you like caramel, vanilla)...
The beginning hits with a bourbony citrus vanilla... Then wafts of caramel kick in getting sweeter and finally
the drydown is very soft orange creaminess with hints of vanilla.

This lasted about 5-6 hours on me with a light hand. I do like it, but dont love it enough to get an entire bottle.

Labaloo

Simple, and gloriously delicious: I also sense caramelized sugar in addition to the complex (natural) vanilla and- tangerine, maybe? *Sigh*... another one for the want list...

silfra

Crème brulée à l'orange.

Deevee

Intensly sweet, with a lot of creamy orange. Very nice comfortable scent. Sort of reminds me of some kind of delicious orange flan or other dessert. Unfortunately when I wore a sample to work I had the following reaction:

*sniff*sniff*sniff*

"What's that?"

"Don't know, smells like..."

*sniff*sniff*

"Fruit Loops?"

"Yes! Fruit Loops! Where are the Fruit Loops? I'm hungry."

*sigh* Perhaps your co-workers are more appeciative of good perfume. I don't know that I would be wearing it much after this.

bloosunshine

This smells like an orange-vanilla ice cream on a stick, the kind I used to love as a kid! There is a
spicy after kick as well,to give it some grown-up
flair! As with all Profmum Roma, sillage is impressive
and incredibly long lasting!Well suited for men and
women.A bit pricey,but,ultimately worth it!

miticothor

Da mangiare, semplicemente!!! Fantastico

kimberlylizkennedy

I have tried a lot of vanillas and this one is deep and strong. The silage is amazing. I hate that it is so expensive! I found on the Perfume Court that you can buy smaller amounts for less. But it is still supper expensive. I really love this though and recommend it if you are looking for the most warm and conforting vanilla. It is not cakey. I imagine they must use real vanilla essential oil rather than synthetic. Because pure vanilla essential oil is EXPENSIVE! I make candles for fun and I have smelled gazillion vanillas and this one I like the most I suppose because it smells unique and warm and lasts long. You get nice wefts throughout the day. I wrote the Company and they won't be making smaller sizes.
I got my sample from Lucky scent and added it to some jojoba oil I have to make a larger batch to bask in. It is amazing how strong the fragrance is even after adding it to my jojoba oil. By the way, on me, it smells sort of white chocolaty vanillaish. I don't pick up any citrus.

zapling

Do you know those large white lillies, the ones you put in a vase and make the whole room smell after their sweet, heavy nectar? Dulcis is much like that. It's a really strong perfume - one drop lasted all day on me. But I was almost embarrassed to smell like this, it's quite unidimensional and heavy and unbelievably sweet (there was a bit of peppermint in the head, but it evaporated quickly; the citrus escaped me alltogether)

Cecille

Seriously the best thing I have ever smelled. Warm, deep, sweet, bourbon-y.

I don't get any orange other than *maybe* a passing hint right at application. Sillage is great - dabs on my wrists keep this floating to my nose all day. It's actually distracting. In a good way.

jubal

This stuff is gorgeous! Perfect for cold weather, it feels like you are wrapped in a cashmere pashmina and you don't want to take your face out of it. Lovely orange and vanilla on me with some wafts of incense that makes it even more beautiful.

tessture

I don't' get any citrus at all in this, but it's an incredible vanilla, very true to bourbon vanilla to the point of almost smelling at times like extract. There are smoky notes, faint incense feeling, and just that rich, thick vanilla, but it's not cloying, sweet or overpowering. Lovely lovely scent. I want more.

gr3g

Wonderfoul fragrance, it's unisex I think it's for women but I'm loving it so much and I'm wearing it anyway :) it smells like very sweet citrus esspecialy oranges, maybe something like sweet sweet orange cookies. It's expensive but I read somewhere that this is about 43% concentree of pure parfum and to me it is very strong and long lasting. I highly recomend it with pure heart to anyone who likes sweet, not spicy scents

rebella

Smells like a delicious orange and vanilla fudge. Very smoth, creamy and powdery at the same time. After a long while it develops to a woody, creamy and sweet fragrance. Very longlasting. I like everything about this perfume except of the price. I agree with Nuppu that it is to expensive. Really good, but not really worth that much money.

Nuppu

This fragrance can make you drool! Topnotes are so juicy oranges, and then it developes to vanilla-orange icecream. So delicius that I have to lick my wrist and this even tastes good. Happy, bursty everydayscent, but way too expensive.
